Deleting your account

Last updated September 9, 2026

You can delete your PUP account at any time — in the app, or through us if you no longer have the app. This page explains how that works, what exactly disappears, and what unavoidably stays.

Before you start: your coins

Coins lapse when you delete your account. We cannot pay them out and cannot transfer them to anyone else. So spend them first on a reward you like. Have a look in the app, under Rewards.

In the app

  1. Open the PUP app

  2. Go to Settings → Delete account

  3. Type DELETE to confirm

That is it. No email, no form, no waiting for us to get round to it — it happens immediately.

Without the app

Deleted the app, or can no longer get into your account? Email info@gopup.app from the address your account was created with, with "Delete account" as the subject.

We verify that the request really comes from you — an email address alone is not enough for that — and then delete your account. That happens within 30 days at the latest, usually much sooner. We will let you know when it is done.

There is no charge for a deletion request.

What gets deleted

  • Your profile: name, username, email address, date of birth, and profile picture

  • Your login credentials and all your active sessions

  • Your push tokens, so you stop receiving notifications

  • Your club connections, and your visibility to other players

  • Your challenge history and your player profile

  • Your coin balance, which lapses

What stays, and why

PUP runs on an event log: a permanent, append-only record of everything that happened. That is what makes a coin balance trustworthy — you cannot simply delete a row from a ledger without breaking it. On top of that, coin records and reward orders carry a statutory seven-year retention obligation.

So we do it differently. Every piece of personal data in that log is encrypted with a key that belongs to you and only you. When you delete your account, we destroy your key. The entries remain, so the books still balance, but the personal data inside them becomes permanently unreadable — to us as much as to anyone else. It cannot be recovered.

What is left is a series of amounts and dates that can no longer be traced back to you. This is a genuine erasure, and it is irreversible.

If you are a member of a club that has connected its own member administration to PUP, that club is responsible for that data itself. To be removed there too, contact your club. See Two different roles in our privacy policy.

Changed your mind?

Deletion is final; it cannot be undone. You can always create a new account, but your old profile, history, and coins will not come back with it.

Questions?

Email info@gopup.app. Would you rather request a copy of your data first, or just adjust your visibility instead of leaving altogether? That is possible too — your rights are set out in our privacy policy.
